South Central is good beacuse the murder rate isn’t as high anymore.  South Central can improve on the violence it has as well.  I don’t really mind going to school in South Central.  South Central has it’s ups and it’s downs.

The LA Riots have made South Central what it is today.  People think that South Central is a bad place to live at.  It’s actually not all that bad anymore.  South Central has changed a lot over the years.  This is important because it has shaped up South Central.  The LA Riots have helped South Central mature over time.

The Gang History has also shaped up South Central.  This is important because gangs has changed a lot over time.  It has went from helping the community to not helping out at all. It actually hurts the community now from time to time.  People have become scared of gangs when gangs were originally to help out people.  I chose this because Gang History has an important impact on South Central.

The Crack Epidemic had a huge impact on South Central.  This is important because of the way that the Crack immigrated into South Central.  The government brought it in and when they got their money from selling drugs into the ghetto they made strict laws against them.  The government is selfish because and does anything to get it’s way.  It has made South Central mature because of the way that the government used them.

The three events that have impacted South Central the most have been Gang History, Crack Epidemic, and the LA RIots.,  These have changed it a lot.  South Central will change again in the future.  It has already past these challenges but there will me many more challenges that they will have to overcome in a future.

Something that looks interesting for next unit is the Watts riots and La riots.  Another thing that looks interesting is the gang history.  I want to study about them because i want to know about Riots that have happened around our area.  I’m also interested in the Gang history to see what kind of gangs have started of here.  That is why i am interested in learning these topics.

why are people deviant?

The differential association theory says that people are bad because of their environment.  The strain theory says that people are bad if they are not successful in life.  The broke3n window theory says that people will be bad if a place is not taken care of.  The labeling theory says people are bad if they are always told they are bad.  All of these ideas try to explain why people do bad things.  The whole point of the unit was to try to explain why people do bad things and then, with the videos , to show how people also do positive things.

Conformist-A person that always follows the rules

innovator-A person that wants to be successful, even if it means breaking the rules.

ritualist-A person that will follow the rules, but does not care if they are successful.

retreatest-A person that does not follow the rules and does not care if they are successful.

rebel-A person that wants new rules for society.

we also discussed the expirement that proved the Broken Window Theory.  A broken down car was dropped off in  a rich and poor neighborhood.  In both neighborhoods, the car was further damaged.  This showed that crime happens in every type of neighborhood.

Lastly we found that the labeling theory was especially damaging for places like south central, LA.  The reason for this is that there are many stereotypes and the stereotypes give people here the message that they are constantl ytold they are bad, even though this is not true.

Something that makes a good website is make it easy for people to use and have a good purpose.  Easy, fun to use, and that people find interesting.  A bad website is having way to many links or ads or something like that.  The ads make it a bad website.  I will try to make it easy to use for everyone.

During this quarter i got a A in this class.  I don’t think i missed any assignments.  Yes, i did my best at all times.  I’m doing well in all classes except match i got a C in that class.  In Algebra i have a C because i don’t do all of my h.w in that class.  I can do all of my h.w to get a better grade.
